Cruise Is Back To The Top of His Game

One of the best action movies of 2011. Tom Cruise proves once again that he is the best super star on the planet. I was pleasantly surprised at how good of an action movie this was.
Story: Less confusing than all other Mission Impossible movies. This time they keep it simple. A bomb blows up the Kremlin and the IMF team are framed as traders. Ethan Hunt, of course, is left to try to save him and his team's name. I liked the linear story and there were enough twists and turns to keep me on my feet. The best story since the first one.
Cinematography/Style: Though each shot is not as artistic as I like, Brad Bird does an amazing job of pulling off the action stunts. Gone are the bullshit stunt moves and in their place are more...well (im)possible stunts. As with many people. my favorite scene is with Ethan Hunt on top of the tallest building in the world. Very well done and cool. Other than that - yeah they wear cool clothes, drive fancy cars, but nothing stylish really crawls through the screen.
The Musical Score: Good, but not amazing. I remember the last one having some melodramatic tones to it and it just distracted from the film. This one is more on cue with an action movie. They use the theme sparingly which is usually good, but could have been brought in a few more times.
Acting: I was pretty impressed. Cruise, as with 95% of his films, is fantastic. Pegg was a bit annoying at times but Renner and the rest of the crew do a great job. It's an action movie so I wasn't expecting much. But this was above average.
Compared to Others: The 2nd best Mission: Impossible movie after the first, of course (the original was much more fresh and the mystery/twist were better done). Compared to James Bond - better than most (besides the early ones) but not better than Casino Royale. Action fans must see it.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Review comment
I'm watching this on Monday with my dad - it looks like most reviews are positive and I have a feeling I will enjoy it! Hopefully much better than Holmes turned out.
