The Core does not ignite me. I give tantamount response to the viewers that it is neither breath taking nor fun, it ends up as a passable entertainer. From the initial theme, I did expect a lot of science in it, I did get it. But was it too fast or irrational in definitions?. Yes. Jon Amiel had a single film copycat which was well received under his directorial belt. With the current theme, by John Rogers (Cat woman, DUngeons and Dragons), we need imagination. Hence Amiel brings in his ideas of projecting the zoomed version of the earth. With a ship withstanding, extreme temperatures, suit to tolerate atleast 5000 degrees, half of the inner core, it might probably work. I did not even care when those birds were falling down from the sky. But when the explosions occur, with palpable and murky visuals, I bet the core is cheap in making. The bastion of the film are the characters played by Aaron Eckhart and the little hacker of the world played by DJ

The core has some really cool dialogues from Eckhart and the hacker. There is necessary humor at the beginning. The first part brings us the characters and their qualities. The second half does the work out. The ship has few crew members, who get into the earth’s deepest layer to re activate the core (inner part). Funny to think. As a movie, idea is nice. The execution probably lacked the armageddon feeling. It had great characters and good motives with lot of physics, common sense and humor to make you feel relaxed. The highlights are the character development and great example of showing the earth with an apple cutting its layers. The drawbacks are slow pace, lot of murky visuals and some what bizarre climax. I expected thunder with the movie approaching climax. It ended fast and really zips up to bring the end. All is done. The core is an average entertainer.

Despite a promising theme and good characters, The core fails to ignite to the best level. It some what meanders with too much acqusition and hurried up climax with sillyness and escapism at the best level.
