Shaking stuff! Sparkling chemistry: Spock and Kirk You win me over. If you need a nicely poised space-adventure with interesting twists then, into darkness is a big Yes! Always been a fan of the Star Trek series, here I get a rousing and solid action film. Chris Pine, Quinto and Saldana reprise their role. They are now facing a dreadful enemy Harrison, the deadly Cumberbatch. Harrison kills some star fleet crew members including their general. Captain Kirk and his team are on a mission to catch Harrison. But there is a looming danger ahead. Some surprises ahead! Abrams goes smoother with action meaningful and sensible for the first round. But then when the ultimate twist is given, movie takes a next move. The big space action adventure is solid. Not quite appreciable, but damn good. It is fast paced, thrilling at many places and even has a heart. The emotions too hit the right chord. This is brilliance and Abrams does it with whole hearted effort. Summer feat: The space ship crashes into San Francisco, and trying to be truthful, Abrams fills the screen for summer escapism. Not the Transformers kind of assault, but action packed with wholesome entertainment.
I was waiting for Quinto to get into action and he does here. Let’s be straight. Blowing up things are always a part of Summer films, but this is unique and has a sense of humor, needed weight for every character and most promisingly has a cunning and smart antagonist Cumberbatch. Dreadful of course is his voice. It has to be like that. At first I thought what was going on with his sudden change of heart? Then I realized how smart he is. Abrams knows how to keep the tempo and works wonders here. He is a clever craftsman. Into Darkness, always has a shining light ahead. Glowing and charmingly splendid, action packed and plot (summer type) packed with terrific performances, from the lead and the cunning and swift chemistry of Cumberbatch and his motives keeps us glued for the outcomes. Yes the outcome is expected not quite lovely, but easily brownie. Welcome relief. Sequels have a pressure. But Abrams gives us a tense and thrilling summer action film. Not as great as the predecessor, but nearly a perfect sequel to think about. It did knock me off for few instances, but I got to go down a level for its simplistic plot. Anyways, Into Darkness is a dark and brooding space action adventure film.
