This Norwegian horror movie was presented at the 2009 after dark horror festival. In this movie you get to know some of the best actors in Norway like Kristoffer Joner and Bjarte Hjelmeland. This movie is a suspense horror thriller with a disturbing atmosphere from beginning to end. The pace is slow, but in this case I think it fits the movie as it gradually builds up towards the finale. The scenery in the movie is breathtaking and the settings and the script is believable. The story was although perhaps not the most original one solid and the acting really good. The special effects in the movies were good and well timed. When you consider the budget this movie had, the result is simply amazing. The directing compensates for the limited budget and make a very creepy and suspenseful result.
The plot outline: (Sorry for repeating given filmcrave accept my plot outline suggestion, but I do not wish to give too much of the movie away.)
Kai Koss returns to his childhood home to settle the affairs after his mother dies. From the moment he arrives strange things begin to happen, and people starts to disappear. The locals believe that Kai is responsible. Haunted by the memories of his horrible childhood with his abusive mother Kai is driven closer and closer to insanity. Could there be a link to the ordeal he went through 19 years ago and the events that take place around him today?
This might not be the best suspense horror out there, but it is a good watch and if you are looking for something different to watch I would recommend Hidden. Approach it with an open mind, and I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
