In the aftermath of the death of Superman, Bruce Wayne takes it upon himself to bring together a team of super-powered individuals to take his place as defender of Earth.

Following on directly from the actually rather good Wonder Woman, Justice League falls straight back into the trap that every other DC movie that preceded it fell into; namely putting special effects and action scenes before coherent narrative and well written characters. There is literally no chemistry between any of the heroes, and even the banter written by Avengers Assemble writer/director Joss Whedon consistently misses the mark because the characterisation just isn't there. They are merely introduced one by one and then immediately thrown into fight sequences that follow the formula of an unconvincing Affleck telling them that "I'll go bish!, you go bash!, and they'll go bosh!" amidst an inevitable sea of CGI and ugly production design. The result is like watching a child bashing a set of action figures together and calling it a "story", and it's very difficult to care about any of it.

Basically the lesson DC need to learn is the one that the Marvel, Star Wars and even James Bond franchises have already learned; if you employ creative talent behind the camera instead of box office receipt-chasing hacks like Snyder you'll have a level of quality that can sustain a long-running series.
