I got and still do get a lot of weird looks when I state that this film is in my top five favorite movies of all time. Without ruining the plot I will say that the ending is comforting if you are smart enough to get what is going on.
The movie is disturbing, but at the same time smart and supremely realistic. There are goings on that you, as a viewer, may not like and they are a bit in your face at moments. But those aren't the parts that make me love this movie, for me it's the characters that rule this for me.
There is a lot to hate about this movie, but if you can look past the dirty deeds being done, you'll find a moving and caring film. Basically what I am saying is that there is a lot to hate (drugs, sex and underaged prostitution), but there is a lot to love too (character profiles, plot twists and the tone).
This is rare, I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.
