Eddie plays Jack McCall, a fast-talking literary agent who will do and say anything to close a deal. When he goes after the most sought after author, spiritual self-guru Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis), the guru sees through his deceit and agrees to the deal, only to later deliver a five-page book. Later that night Jack goes home to find an unusual tree in his yard. . After finding out that the tree loses a leaf every time Jack says a word he refuses to speak at all, as doing so will keep the tree, and him, alive but soon his work, marriage, and friendships are all affected.
I was entertained. There is a core of message there, of being true to yourself and those important to you, spouse, children, parents and friends. Worth a look if you’ve got nothing better to look at.
