Dips into a dark valley

This drama starts out strong with an engrossing story and interesting characters, but the final hour fizzles into a darker side with phony symbolism and some unnecessary violence; the performances by Edward Norton, David Morse, Rory Culkin and Evan Rachel Wood really help. Final Grade: C+
