This sleek, engrossing cops vs. criminals thriller has plenty that we've all seen before, but it's Gray's calculated direction and the well-developed characters that keeps it fresh; memorable sequences include a notably hot opening shot of Eva Mendes and a rain-soaked car chase seen mostly through wiper blades. Final Grade: B+
