An adventure for the whole family

A first-rate family adventure despite some general predictability; director Carroll Ballard (The Black Stallion, Fly Away Home), who's no stranger to using animals in his films, handles his subject with sensitivity and provides an enormously entertaining journey. The bond between the boy and his cheetah is heartbreaking and there's a lot of fun to be had along the way. Final Grade: A-
