Unfunny and forgettable.

The Three Stooges is innocent, energetic, and has good intentions. Unfortunately, there isn't really any payoff. I didn't laugh. It's certainly not as bad as I thought it might be and not as annoying as I predicted, but it's not so good. I don't find these guys funny, and the problem is that these gags aren't funny anymore. Sure, they were funny while the show was on-air years ago, but that comedy has worn off. Again though, the movie has a share of charms, it's directed with energy, and it'll most likely make the little kids laugh, but there really isn't any other redeeming quality.
The film was written and directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, Hall Pass, Osmosis Jones), and stars Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, co-starring Larry David and Jane Lynch. The impersonations of the original three stooges are spot-on. No, I didn't find most of it funny, but from the language, the actions, the mannerisms, and emotions, Sasso, Hayes, and Diamantopoulos did a great job bringing these characters' personalities back. Larry David and Jane Lynch... let's just say their great talent is wasted. The film is split into three "episodes," none of which I seemed to care about or find amusing. The first episode delivers most of the charms and laughs (even though there aren't many), the second mostly the same, and the third gets ridiculous, bringing the Jersey Shore into it and completely abandoning the charms in the first two episodes.
The Three Stooges isn't bad, as I've said plenty of times already. It has the goods to make the young ones laugh their asses off and energetic story-telling. I just personally don't find these guys funny. I didn't laugh much, and this is being marketed as a comedy, so I'm assuming its job is to make me laugh, isn't it? I'm giving it two stars, right down the middle.
