Not the classic or oscar worthy movie some would lead you to believe.
it was rather silly if you think about it. the pirates were made out to be idiots.. the efforts to free captain phillips were laughable .though i guess as its based on a true story maybe they really were that pathetic .
tom hanks was good but his acting was nothing more than anything else.he is in The only moment acting wise thats worth high praise was when he was with the doctor near the end
to be honest i fail to see what makes this movie better than a jason statham movie. the only real difference is this one is done more seriously and has tom hanks. it doesn't make it more enjoyable or more worthy of the praise . i rated it good as it is a good film but i could say its just ok as well.
