set in a futuristic world where people live in different fractions the smart fraction the helpful the police and so on once people come of age they get tested to see which fraction to join, but they can choose which one anyway. this is a story about a girl who gets tested but it turns out she is divergent which basically means she questions and doesn't' conform, and is a threat to the fractions.
This movie is in the same look feel and style as the hunger games. with the same kind of teen love story and lead female character. its quite a long film but it does hold your attention throughout and gets you deep into it.
most of the film is the lead character training and trying to pass the tests to join the fraction.
once the film does heat up and she is obviously found out it all gets veyr predicatable and corny and just silly really before it then ends and leaves the door open for a 2nd movie.
The idear of a divergent is silly its most people in life so a bit silly. the main bulk of the movie is done very well but really could of trimmed in parts did we really need to see all the training all the little bits.
it felt like they rushed the ending sequences as it was so predictable and very lame. its as if they realized they ran out of time and just quickly wrote the ending. which was such a shame as the main movie was easy to get into and it deserved a better end
i could go 4 stars as it was quite good but the last part of the movie brings it down. much like the hunger games it has a underline weakness. overall worth watching yes.
