The movie delivers exactly what's promised - a lot of entertaining but far-fetched action, eye candy, interesting characters, linear but appealing storyline, and some well timed splashes of comedy. Yes, the story is largely a re-hash of Raiders of the Lost Ark (the villains faces and flag on their armbands have changed, the treasure they are hunting to help them control the world is slightly different, and it’s a decade or so later), but its still great entertainment.
It’s no surprise that Harrison Ford carries this movie - after all this was the role he was born to play. Still, I can't quite help comparing it to Raiders, and thinking how much better the first installment was. I was particularly disappointed with Mud (aka Shia LaBeouf), whom I much preferred in some of his other recent roles.

My problem was the shitty CGI. I mean swinging monkeys....and a squirrel at the beginning which is completely CGI. Are you telling me the monkeys were necessary and that they couldn't get a squirrel to come out of a hole - or create a realistic animatronic?
