A singular sensation?

Am I gay, or what?
Of the few childhood events I can remember 30 years later, seeing "A Chorus Line" live on stage is one of them. During all those years, I think at any point I could have sung word-for-word "Tits & Ass" or "One". Something about the musical resonated in ways I would not realize until much too late.
My point is that I can't be too objective in judging the 1985 film version: no matter how bad it may be, I just couldn't hate it.
But being as honest as I can with myself, I will admit that it's not a great movie. On one hand, watching it today, I experienced the opposite reaction I had to "Mamma Mia!". In both cases, I had the wonderful songs stuck in my head for days. But where I loathed "Mamma Mia!", I loved "A Chorus Line". (Please let the only comparisons remain that they were once Broadway shows and they both have indisputably terrific music.)
Although I can never forgive the movie for burying "What I Did for Love" among the clatter of the stage, I will always like it. It's just too far imbedded in my psyche.
