First 'really' scary film of the year!!!

Ok at one time i used to complain that they couldn't make good horror films anymore, at least not scary anyways. Well that seems to be changing now as anyone who watches 'Mama' will see. Even though Guillermo Del Toro is acting as the producer on this I can see that director Andres Muschietti must've collaborated with him alot on this project cause this film has Del Toro's style all over it and that is a good thing.
Scary films don't seem to bother me anymore as i increase in age, however they used to as i, after watching titles such as 'The Exorcist, The Exorcism Of Emily Rose to name a few used to turn all the lights on whereever i was living as my imagination would begin to soar. As previously mentioned, that rarely happens anymore. Not withstanding however, I still know a scary movie when i see one.
Storyline for Mama takes place shortly after the economic crash of 2007-08 a father goes to work, shoots both his wife and business partners to return home and grab both of his daughters and whisks them away north. The eldest of the two girls, Annabel (played brilliantly by young Jessica Chastain) whilst in the car asks her father "Where are we going daddy?" As to which he replies "I don't know?"
His driving increases in speed whilst driving on icy, snowy roads and sure enough the car crashes. They all survive the crash and he leads them to an abandoned cabin out in the woods where he plans to do both of them in as well as himself, he is thwarted however by an unseen force and is taken away before this can occur leaving the small girls all to their lonesome.
5 years later, their father's brother Lucas is still searching for the girls and they stumble upon the abandoned car and the cabin, needless to say they find both of the girls both dirty and acting wild however looked after. By whom? That is the question here. Brought home by their uncle strange things start to happen at the home and to the girls....something has followed them there....
That's all i am willing to tell about this movie the rest is up to you...So grab some munchies and your favorite person in life to cling too...lower the lights and enjoy the ride as it is a truly scary one to endure.
