As a movie, it is a typical so-so romantic comedy. As a COEN BROTHERS movie - it's just not good.
It took 8 years to develop, so it's either that it was fussed with until it was barely recognizable, or that it could have used another year or two in order to get it right...
The story lacks the stylish flow of a Coen project, instead it clunks along with weak humor, and generic, colorless characters (which is perhaps the most disappointing element - these fellas are the KINGS of brilliant character building, what happened?)
It's best to forget who made it, and just watch...it's more Tolerable that way.
