People, do not be fooled by the DVD cover. This is not just a movie about sex, solely so people can see Christina Ricci prance around half naked, chained to a radiator. It's actually more than it seems. Christina Ricci plays Rae, a girl in the deep south of Mississippi, who, resulting from being sexually abused as a child, is a nymphomaniac. After her boyfriend (played surprisingly well by Justin Timberlake), leaves to go into the Army, she gets a little out of control, and ends up beaten and drugged on the side of the road. Lazarus, a religious, former bluesman, whose wife had just lef thim, (Samuel L Jackson) finds her, takes her home, takes care of her, and yes, chains her up to a radiator to control her. Rae's boyfriend, eventually comes home without warning after being discharged from the Army, and misinterprets the relationship between Lazarus and Rae. So yes, this movie is much more than Christina Ricci being half-naked, and chained to a radiator. It is about a messed up, abused girl, who just wants to find love, and can never quite find it. So, don't let the cover fool you. It's a pretty good movie.
