If you've never been a fan of Brad Bird, you will now (at least I hope so). The Incredibles is a story of the typical superhero family forced into exile when money-hungry "regular individuals" take out their inadequate feelings on the group of extraordinary humans. No one knows why everyone has super-powers, they just do. Unfortunately, this is the same sad story that happens in real life. But I digress, if you wanted to know about real life, you'd be reading Oprah or Dr. Phil, not this review. Back to the story. The Incredible learn how to work together as a family and face the perils of jealousy (when the wife believes her husband is cheating), low self-esteem (when the lead character needs the comfort of a platinum-haired ingenue to help him feel more muscular), and the sweet, sweet revenge story (sometimes it pays to be nice to the little tykes). But, who could forget the steadfast E, who makes sure that everyone stays in check. I gave this film 4 stars. If you must sit kids in front of an animated film, make sure it's got a good story and a happy ending.
