Beetlejuice was my first love of Sci-Fi movies. Although classified as a comedy/fantasy, it was my foray into what is now known as Psychological Sci-Fi (per the dawning of Blockbusteronline.com). I enjoy watching many aspects of the film and it was the first one, I remember, that made sense and appealed to that dark side of me. I also loved the cartoon. I digress. Beetlejuice celebrates the importance of mourning the dead. Really. If it weren't for the love of that friendly ghost (sans Casper), the couple who faced their untimely demised wouldn't know a darn thing about the afterlife. Just remember kids: understanding love, forgiveness, and real life is what matters (the moral of the story). I love this film and own it. Want some old school, classic shtick funny? Rent it, buy it, or just run out to the "old-time movie festivals" and watch it. Fun, fun!
