This is a really great chick flick (guys won't like it). The most popular girl in school, Bianca, isn't allowed to date unless her sister is, so a guy who likes Bianca pays a guy (Ledger) to go out with her sister. He finds himself falling in love with her, after all her loathe towards him, and she finds herself doing the same.
Okay so I cried during this movie (as I do over most non sad movies). This is a great movie if you want to laugh, cry, and feel empathy towards the characters. Even though, I agree, that its not really a deep movie, it's not supposed to be! Its just a teen romance film, that leaves you feeling happy once its over.
