I believe the word "pilgrim" is heard about 1 billion times in this film. The acting is top notch, Lee Marvin, Wayne, Stewart, etc...are great. The film is only average until the final 15 mins. or so. That's when we find out why a Senator is at an ordinary man's funeral.
