Do these aliens have to invade?

One of the cheesier 50's sci-fi films that I've seen. The aforementioned invaders build trap doors in the ground and people fall through them. Then, much like in Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the people come back a lttle different than when they left. It's been done before, and usually better. And the ending is a copmlete waste..."was it all just a dream?"
