Finally a comedy that still holds up 80 years later. Most of the "great" comedies from the 30s and 40s don't hold up very well today. I'm not saying that they're not "funny" but they might make you smile and that's it. Very rarely do I get an audible laugh when watching comedies from that time period.
That's where this film comes in. It truly is laugh-out-loud funny. William Powell and Myrna Loy are great as Nick and Nora. I still don't understand the title "The Thin Man," but it doesn't really matter. It's a very funny film.
