A smart stupid comedy.

Okay, now these guys really have explored every idea possible. A pub crawl. When was the last time we had a good movie about a pub crawl?
This was my most anticipated movie of 2013, right after Man of Steel, but fortunately The World's End was actually good. In fact, it was great.
Who knew these simple, fun comedies would turn into one of the best trilogies today? My God. I am so surprised.
This movie has a typical Pegg-Frost-Wright quality. It looks generic on the outside but can make you burst with laughter and fall in love with its characters once you get into the excellently-written story.
This may be the Dark Knight Rises of the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy. It was actually dark. Yes, a hilarious comedy that has some great dramatic scenes.
It has the qualities of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz put together. It made me want to burst with laughter every few moments, challenged me to find the Easter egg jokes and assured me a good time at the cinema that day.
The comedic delivery is yet again brilliant. With so many characters you would think it would become difficult to fit them into a fun social circle, but they all leave a lasting mark and have separate personalities to help you like them.
It's like the movie is guiding you through it, showing you what to like and what to look out for.
Of course, it's over the top, like all films in the series, but in comparison with the others, this movie handled its second half a little better.
I have one problem with this movie. There are actually too many jokes. I felt like I needed some time to laugh, the delivery was too fast. I got the feeling that the movie felt it needed to have so many jokes to be a very funny movie, which it didn't. The premise itself was just so obnoxious.
The World's End reminds me why I love to see a movie on the big screen in a movie auditorium. It's more enjoyable, especially in an Edgar Wright movie and who doesn't want to have a good time at the cinema?
