I can see why a lot of people like this film. Its fun, and hasn't really dated. But i didn't love it personally. It just didn't grip me or interest me all that much. There wasn't a lot to grab hold of other than the story.
Still, the best sci-fi film of the 50's remains Robert Wise's The Day the Earth Stood Still.
