The film is great for so many reasons. It touches so many right buttons, the great moments almost spill over the top. Russell Crowe is great but Joaquin Phoenix is better. He's so convincing as an intimidating weakling that i enjoy watching him more. Some great action scenes, and around it all is one of the best scores of our time, by Hans Zimmer. A remarkable achievement.
