Nightmare on Elm Street

Here comes a rant:
The film opens with a cliched credit sequence, while a score that sounds straight out of the sixth sense tickles my ears. Its all very polite and non-threatening, and this is how it starts? For god's sake, this is a horror film, scare me please for the love of god. Use noises and music to evoke some kind of terrifying atmosphere.
Then the acting starts, these non-actors with their over rehearsed lines of dialogue, i mean, they say it as if their very lives depended on it, and its absolutely horrid, really takes you out of any suspense or feelings of dread.
Remember in the originals, the Halloweens, the original Nightmares, The Chainsaw Massacres? Micheal Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, these guys were monsters, evil to their very core, but here yet again, we get an almost sympathetic Fred Krueger character with background scenes that choke the life out of any horror it tries to muster. Poor Jackie Earle Haley, reduced to a horror movie prop.
It's laughable, its not enjoyable, its not scary, and if their is any justice in this world, Micheal Bay will leave the film industry and take all these wannabe directors with him.
