Fun and Surprises

It's sometimes a pleasure to watch a movie that knows that we know what it's up to. This is probably the most knowing of all the Scream movies and it uses that idea to throw us curve balls at every turn. The movie is relentless in it's comedic riffs on today's horror and teen life as a whole, while still managing to provide some suspenseful moments. It plays to both the fans and younger newcomers to the series simultaneously with ease. There are surprises throughout the tangled mystery all leading up to the final reveal of the killer, which left my jaw on the floor. This one is the most fun of all the Scream films and one of the most entertaining horror movies of this past decade, which is saying something.
