Transcends Past it's Extreme Horror Reputation

I was under the impression that Martyrs was just another extreme horror film that people talk up and dare others to watch, but that undermines the whole point of the movie. Yes, it is violent and contains many scenes of torture (sometimes graphically), but it's all emotionally effective and essential to the main idea of the film. Though, to fully realize the intentions of Martyrs, you have to see it through to the end. And believe me, it is worth it. I can't write anymore about it, because this film works best if you go into it fresh and let the experience happen naturally.
