Unique Family Film

A family film that is both odd and charming. As a kid, I enjoyed it for it's whimsy and moments that resembled a Grim fairy tale. As I've grown up watching it from time to time, I've gained respect for it's narrative and smart comedy. Some will call parts of this film 'dark', but I find those scenes to be more gray because I interpreted them differently at different ages. That's the unique balance that I appreciate most about this movie.
