The most interesting thing about this ghost tale is that it's not a straight up horror picture. It's a competent blend of supernatural, mystery, and drama, with a bit of understated romantic advances and realistic humor. It's not trying to be outright scary in the least, but it does a great job of building and sustaining a chilling atmosphere. Top that off with a good story and characters (played by fine actors), and you have a memorable little film.
