Part Three is 'Expendable'

'The Expendables' series has begun to show wear. With the strong improvement of the second film, it was a disappointment to witness the decline in this third outing. It offers the least exciting bang, thus far. Most of the action isn't stimulating. It opens with a couple of decent short bouts and leaves one or two cool moments for a ho-hum finale, with a long stretch of boredom in the overlong middle. There's a strong sense of going through the usual motions this time around. It has a nonsensical/playful tone, but the outcome is still less fun. It's harder to overlook the lame scripting and acting (present in all three) because of this. Only three of the new recruits (Snipes, Bandaras, Gibson) put any effort in. They steal each of their very few scenes by just trying to be fun. The younger Expendables were not needed and they flat-out sucked. I was bored often. A few amusing bits throughout managed to keep me going. Overall, completely skippable.
