Another animated feature to cover the death of Superman. This one fares better than the previous 'Doomsday'. Superman uses his time of slow-death to reveal secrets and right wrongs. Lex Luthor takes advantage of this situation that he created but not in the fashion one would expect. He has a fully realized arc that resonates in his long standing relationship with Superman. Tiny sparks of profound and philosophical themes are present. They don't add much beside a quick thought. It's a slow moving, very adult minded, and near action less endeavor. I both appreciate and feel unfulfilled by those points at the same time. It's positives make it stand out, but also hold it back.
