'Dear White People' is the most relevant comedy of today's time. The satire is sharper than a chef's knife. There exists no typical story, gags, or situations. The humor requires you to listen to and ponder the biting observations present. To say that this is smarter than your average college flick is a severe understatement. The film rides almost entirely on it's social and political agendas regarding race. We see these issues unfold from the perspective of top tier black students living with over-privileged white kids. It's not an indictment of relation habits against one side, but rather an examination of the fault with both sides in trying to address it. The curtain is drawn back on our main black characters to show that their true feelings don't always match their actions. It makes a statement that's hard to argue with.
