'Predestin'ed To Warp Your Mind

'Predestination' is not the usual history altering action/thriller the trailer initially sold me on. No, it's FAR from that. This is one of the most unique time travel films I've ever seen. An intricately complex narrative brings forth one weird and utterly surprising revelation after another. My jaw dropped more with each new reveal. There are many fascinating ideas at play. The plot is tightly constructed. It continuously circles back on itself, causing little room for time travel inconsistencies. Newcomer Sarah Snook wows with an impressively layered performance. I was connecting the pieces of the story every minute, becoming fully intrigued and invested. The ending leaves some questions worth dissection. Looking back, I see the theme of preconceived fate through ill-gotten means; the fact that we can't undo what we set in motion from the beginning. It makes the film's title seem perfectly fitting. I highly recommend this crazy mind-bender to anyone who enjoys films about time travel. There's certainly nothing like it.
