The 'Fast'est and Most 'Furious' of Them All

I was never a fan of this franchise from the beginning. That said, I did find some enjoyment in the two most recent installments. Their escalating high-octane lunacy has grown on me over time. Well, with 'Furious 7', I have finally got a whole dose of fun for the entirety of one of these flicks. This is the best in the franchise, by far. The no-brain crazy agenda is pushed to new highs, leading to some insane stunts that really entertain. The plots of these films are not good (obviously), but no one watches them for that reason. Part 7 understands this fact best. The plot and continuing story between returning characters are condensed to make the sub-par writing take up much less screen time, for once. Thank you! Some of the dialogue is amusing and, at times, a bit on the self-refferential side. I got a few decent laughs. But the bread and butter of this growing series is the absurd action. And it delivers in spades. The car chases hold a little more speed induced excitement than most of the previous sequels. It's fast paced from beginning to end. The handling of Walker's character (post death) is terrific. His inclusion is seamless and his send-off could not be more respectful. It's a surprisingly bitter-sweet finale. This entry boasts the most improvement. I'm happy to give a full recommendation to one of these 'Fast' flicks. It's consistent dumb fun.
