'Kung Fu Panda 3' is firmly consistent to the series. It has that same tight combination of heart and humor that made the first two 'Panda' films universally accessible. To say that this second sequel is more of the same is a great compliment. Of course, we do get a new story and characters which further the enlightenment of our ever-so-charming Po. His new challenges include becoming a teacher and reaching a spiritual level of power, all while forming a relationship with his long-lost biological parent. Each of these thematic areas could've easily just been wedged in for the sake of having a couple of sentimental moments, but they actually propel the majority of the plot and coincide with Po's personal growth. There is legitimate investment to his success. The climax effortlessly combines these themes into a satifying resolution of the trilogy. It only adds to the enjoyment already being received from the sharp comedy, on-point voice work, and terrific visual pallet. This one will not disappoint in the slightest.
