Delivers on the Fights

They seem to be pumping out two or three of these new interconnected DCU animated films every year. This latest sequel is closer to being one of the best. That's not saying much, though. The title referred match is sort of brief, but it at least makes sense within this story and plays out how most comic book elitists would logically state. The introduction of the Teen Titans into this particular universe is done through the mishaps of the new Robin. I didn't find him as one note or borderline annoying in this outing. He goes through another variation of the same arc he's been ever so slowly adapting to in all of the movies thus far. That's a bit annoying in it's own right, but the shades presented here gain some tiny involvement due to his newfound camaraderie with the Titans. Their portrayal is part new comic storylines and part elements of the great Cartoon Network show. I liked the team well enough. They are all distinctly unique and have more personality than the Justice League in this film. There's an evil entity possessing members of the JL and it's somehow tied to Raven's past. It gives proper reason for the fights to occur, but it's nothing special. The bombastic finale was a bit overblown, but at least it took place in a new setting with crazy monsters to fight. Slightly better than most of the new DCUA's output.
