I 'Confirm' it's a Good Film

'The Confirmation' is a rare kind of family oriented drama/comedy. The story revolves around the weekend activities of a father and son. Their relationship is reworked after a divorce and the father develops a drinking habit. I found the dynamic between the two to be absolute genuine. The writing and performances are so in-tune with real life that no one watching could help but find something relatable. It's so low-key. Less concerned on plot. Though, there is a plot about retrieving some stolen items, but it's only necessary to place the characters in situations to help them grow closer. The whole intent of the movie is just sweet natured. It doesn't have to reach dramatic highs and lows, nor does it ever attempt to. Has a natural flow to immediately get swept up in. So likable in it's realistic simplicities. Earns the small gratification that so many similar films lack.
