This is a movie that forces you to watch it over and over again, and I don't mind. There's so much detail put into this film (such as the fact that the background sounds are actually various creatures and humans breathing) and Haley Joel Osment is (was, I suppose) one of the greatest child actors. It can be suspenseful, creepy, sweet, thoughtful...it pays attention to the characters and the story and doesn't reduce itself to the formula of a typical thriller, which is why it's great.
