Bullet Train (2022)

“You’re a Diesel!”

‘Bullet Train’ is a fast-moving, messy, and stupid movie that does not fail to entertain. I found it funny how every character has a little backstory, even a water bottle. The film has colourful visuals, style, thoughtful action set pieces, and absurdly violent humour.

However, one of the things that stood out about this movie-going experience was that I got to see it on Screen X, an expanded, dual-sided, 270-degree screen projected on the walls. And I got to say Screen X is not for me. On the sides of the walls, it was moving at ten frames per second, while the middle screen was moving just fine, which was very distracting. It does not help that it projects to the walls next to a fire exit, which was visible throughout. So yeah, I don’t recommend it.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (as Tangerine) and Brian Tyree Henry (as Lemon) were the best part of the film. They are two hitmen who are good at killing but terrible at protecting people. Their interaction was the most entertaining, especially how they rope in the kid program of Thomas the Tank Engine when it comes to reading people. Also, Brian Tyree Henry and Joey King are two American actors who manage to do solid British accents.

The movie is not great or anything, as there are problems, but other than that, I enjoyed it for what it is. It served its promise, and it served it well.
