Was this movie great? Objectively speaking, no. The special effects were too busy, the plot was negligible, the supporting actors were mostly flat, and the "feminist twist" was possibly even more regressive than the original fairy tale.
But it turns out that Angelina Jolie being unutterably fabulous makes up for a multitude of other sins. Quite possibly the campiest, vampiest creature to grace the screen since the silent era... and if a generation of small children experiences a mass sexual awakening thanks to the sight of Jolie done up like a dominatrix, then that can't be all bad.
