The Ultimate Comedy!

My Cousin Vinny really is everything that a comedy should be! The cast are great and all play their characters with fantastic ease.
Set in Alabama, it tells of Vinny (Joe Pesci), a "lawyer" of sorts who is faced with defending his cousin Bil (Former Karate Kid, Ralph Maccio)l and his friend Stan (Mitchell Whitfield) on murder charges when they are arrested after a store clerk is shot during a robbery. With the help of his fiance, Mona Lisa (Marisa Tomei, who subsequently won an Oscar for the role) Vinny manages to grasp the legal system and court etiquette in time to give a winning performance in front of a doubting judge. The hilarity comes from the fact that Vinny and Mona Lisa are very definitely from New York with strong accents that contrast those of the rest of the court, and also have to adapt to life in a small Southern town as well as the case.
With it's great supporting cast, quick witted script and beautiful Southern back drop, My Cousin Vinny is a movie that anyone can enjoy without too much effort and can be watched over and over with as many laughs as the first screening.
