"Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country" is one of the best in the Trek movie series.
The plot of the movie is the start to peace between the "Klingon Empire" and the "United Federation of Planets" is being apparently sabotaged by "Kirk" and his crew when it appears that the "Enterprise" has shot and crippled the "Klingon" ship carrying "Klinon Chancellor Gorkon," who is killed. However, as "Kirk" and "McCoy" are sentenced to life at a "Klingon" penal colony, "Spock" and the "Enterprise" crew conduct their own investigation, while ignoring orders to report back to "Space Dock" so that the "Enterprise" can be decommissioned. What they discover may destroy the peace conference, and may highten the already fragile relationship between the two governments.
The acting is one of the best the Trek movie series has. You can tell that, since it was announced prior to the release of this movie to theaters that this will be the last time the entire cast of the original "Star Trek" TV series will be seen in these roles, that they wanted this to be a memorable movie in every way possible.
The special effects are marvelous. From the "explosive" opening scene to the shape-shifting effect of the "Carmeloid" "Martia," not one thing looks fake, like some other special effects in the science-fiction genre.
Though the movie is a bit predictable at times, there are many things that surprise you. Some of those who are actually involved in the conspiracy to thwart the peace conference are a surprise, especially who is involved on board the "Enterprise".
This is one movie that any "Star Trek" has got to have in his/her video/DVD collection. In my opinion, it is an excellent mystery/science-fiction movie that is enjoyable in every way possible.
