"The Fifth Element" is one of sci-fi's best and worst. As far as storytelling goes, the story is a bit muddled with too many loose ends not being tied up...just frayed endings the audience is supposed to deal with. I think there was too much comedy (Chris Tucker) for its own good, but it brought a lot of different audiences together to appreciate a very well-conceived story. The acting is sub-par (except for Ian Holm and Gary Oldman who were AWESOME!), and the writing is only half-stilted. I loved it and found it incredibly entertaining though and would recommend it to everyone.
