Black Swan (2010)

Attack it!

There's far too much to say about this movie that it will be very frightening for me to even try. However, I shall do my best.

First, Writing - How enthralling the language. Writer Mark Heyman won me over with his critical love of ballet in this film, how easy the language was to understand, no matter how technical it became. A moving depiction into the epic battle of self, "Black Swan" may very well be one of the most enthralling stories ever told on the screen, and it all began with a beautiful story and elegeant writing.

Directing - Darren Aronofsky has yet to disappoint me, and "Black Swan" had me shocked and surprised. What made the direction so incredible was the way the camera moved and danced with the characters on the screen, how touching the characters were and how I cared for every single one of them through the small peep-hole of the camera's lense. Way to go Darren!

Acting - I cannot have enough good things to say about this astounding cast. Natalie Portman, with Oscar buzz and SAG awards already roaring around her is at the very top of her game, employing her whole heart and soul into one of the most wonderful cinematic characters ever. Mila Kunis is a wonder, moving away from her television personas and into a gritty underworld of theatrical exposure. Vincent Cassel offers the masculine escape of the film in a very artistic way. Winona Ryder is her very best, acting circles around most of the leading ladies in film today.

A beautiful movie that is surely the Best Picture of the year in my book, "Black Swan" is a must-see and must-experience film, an art.
