Closed Circuit very easily could have been a worse movie than it is. It certainly felt that way for the first ten, fifteen minutes. But luckily it becomes an okay and sometimes interesting political thriller which has a great cast of some sorely under-appreciated actors doing a good job. Eric Bana, once a contender for Hollywood's next Russell Crowe, is as strong a leading man as he was headlining movies like Troy or Hulk (remember those movies?). Rebecca Hall is his romantic and professional foil and does just as well. The supporting cast is full of reliable character actors like Jim Broadbent and Ciaran Hinds whom absorb their slick and oily roles like a sponge.
