Southside With You is a decent enough romantic movie but there's a problem. It's clearly meant to be a schmaltzy self-congratulatory love letter to Obama fans everywhere. I bet it was made with a different successor in mind. *wink wink*. The script is lightweight but genial and the two actors playing the Obamas are really good. It's barely eighty minutes long and it's got more on its mind than just sending Obama a nice send-off. But then again it's exactly that.
