Chris Evans' directorial debut is an amiable if frustrating comedy-drama. He and costar Alice Eve make a charming pair. Both their characters have baggage and relationship issues yet aren't complete screw-ups. Evans nails the buildup of their budding intimacy;a rarity for first-time directors. But the payoff is sorely underwhelming. That may count as a spoiler, I'm not quite sure.
